In an age where we wear the mentality 'rise and grind' like a badge of honour, it's more important than ever to look after the wellbeing of employees.
These days, working a full-time job often leaves you with very little free time - and when you do get to enjoy a few precious hours away from the desk, you're probably busy trying to squeeze in as much quality time as possible with your friends and family. This often means finding the time to get to the gym, or prioritizing your health in general seems nearly impossible.
It shouldn't be this way though. A recent report from Jet Xavier, a mental skills and mindset coach in the real estate industry, said many real estate agencies around Australia are outdated when it comes to enforcing wellbeing practices - and it's taking a toll on employees.
According to the report, 65 per cent of those in the industry said they constantly felt stressed, while 47 per cent reported physical symptoms of anxiety, and 46 per cent said their work had a negative impact on their personal relationships.
But while this may be the case, Ms Bennie said the real estate industry is beginning to implement steps to maximize the wellbeing of employees.
"It's encouraging to see a trend emerging in real estate towards increasing staff wellness and engagement. Whether it's through subsidized memberships, flexible hours, job sharing, providing health food options, targeted training on stress and time management and general support for those in need," she said.

Sharon Bennie, from Specialist Property Recruitment, told WILLIAMS MEDIA that the wellness and wellbeing of employees is something that needs to be taken seriously by employers.
"The wellness and wellbeing of employees, including their mental, physical and spiritual health, is critical not just to the bottom line, but to all factors in business from how your teams interact, the culture that is created, and how they treat your clients," she said.
"This is an incredible topic that has been covered across the world in TEDx talks and conferences alike due to the focus on "workplace wellness" increasing steadily over the past 20 years. Relevance has come to the fore in Australia due to an increase in absenteeism, disengagement and health related issues," she said.
Workplace health and wellbeing programs not only positively impact employees wellness, they actually lead to a significant increase in productivity and engagement.

Ms Bennie said employers should create workspaces that encourage healthy habits.
"Not every team will have the same ideas on what constitutes contribution to their wellbeing," she said.
"Work with your employees to explore what will suit them."
Employees can also take charge of their own mental and physical wellbeing, she said.
"There's a lot employees can do to manage their own wellness. This could include forming wellness committees, encouraging more positive conversations in the workplace, or finding fun things that promote wellness in the team," she said.
A two day wellness and wellbeing event is being held for those in the industry. Designed for agents, principals, property managers and BDM's to come together and learn wellness practices they can utilise in the workplace, the event is a chance for industry professionals to take a break and rejuvenate.
Speakers include industry leaders such as John Cunningham, Anthony Toop, Shane Kempton, Jet Xavier, Sherrie Storor and many more.
The event will be held on the 29th and 30th of July at the Sheraton Mirage in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast.
