London's annual 'Don't move, improve!' design competition has revealed its 2018 shortlist of 30 projects, revealing the latest trends, design and problem solving in home renovations.
The designs are as varied as a kitchen celebrating exposed materials, a corten-clad roof extension, a series of hobby rooms for a retired couple, a ramped Victorian workshop, a garden library, and a refurbished water tower.
The competition is organised by New London Architecture, in conjunction with RIBA London, Clippings, and Architect's Republic.
Any house renovation completed in within the last two years throughout London was eligible for the competition.
The judges include Amy Frearson, editor of Dezeen, Peter Murray, chairman of NLA, Carl Turner, architect, Cany Ash, co-founder of Ash Sakula, and Zohra Chiheb, architect with Levitt Bernstein.
