Lendlease has lodged the development application for its 55-storey office tower at Sydney’s Circular Quay. The tower will be designed by global architecture firm, Foster + Partners.
The tower will have a proposed height of up to 263 metres, meaning it could be Sydney’s tallest office building.
The project is expected to cost $545.9 million to build, and is the latest component of a $3.7 billion facelift for Circular Quay that will expand and reinvent the Sydney CBD hub.
Lendlease says that more than 45 per cent of the precinct will be for community infrastructure, including two public plazas, retail-lined laneways, a public cycle facility, public art, and a three-storey community building.
"We have developed a scheme that opens the ground plane to create as much community infrastructure as possible," said Mark Menhinnitt, Lendlease's managing director for urban regeneration.
Foster + Partners’ senior executive partner, Gerard Evenden, said, “With many levels boasting spectacular views of Sydney’s landmarks, the tower will encompass functionally flexible open-space floorplates that enjoy north-facing workspaces."
The development application is subject to approval by the Central Sydney Planning Committee and is on public display.
Early works have already begun, with consent for demolition for the site already granted.
