The A-list Hollywood couple have paid US$10 million (AU$13 million) for a classic Californian beachhouse right on the sand.

Only a short drive from their home in Beverly Hills, the six-bedroom home is set behind security gates.

The 3,100 square-foot property consists of two homes, both bright and sunny and built and styled in a classic Californian style.

The larger main home has two storeys, and the smaller cottage sits right on the beach. The main house features wide, white-oak floorboards, and white walls, and the top floor has vaulted ceilings, a fireplace, and glass doors that open onto a balcony that looks out to sea.

The home is close to Santa Barbara, and where a number of other Hollywood stars, including Natalie Portman, have homes.
