What we didn't realise when we watched the riotous television series in the early 2000s, was that Kath and Kel Day-Knight's suburban bungalow was actually on the waterfront, complete with beach, boat mooring and water views.
If you enjoyed the iconic television series 'Kath and Kim' in the early 2000s, as millions did, you'll understand the suburban house that Kath and Kel lived in was an essential element of the show.
The home defined middle-class suburbia, and while we laughed along, the aspirations it represented were familiar and touching to many of us.
But perhaps the laugh's on us, because what the creators of the show didn't reveal during the series, was that the house was in fact on the waterfront, had its own beach and mooring, and water views!
The house - undoubtedly a piece of Australian history - is now on the market.
The four-bedroom home has been left largely untouched since the show was filmed, so it may be familiar to viewers.
The agents are Stephen and Genevieve Hill, principals of Ray White Patterson Lakes, and the property is expected to fetch upwards of $1.3 million.
Stephen said the property is an ideal family home.
“Aside from its history, this really is a wonderful home. There are both formal and casual living spaces, and alfresco patio overlooking the water and plenty of room for a growing family,” he said.
The property is for sale by private treaty.
