A winery took out National Building Design of the Year at the 2016 National Building Design Awards.
Chrismont Winery, a family-owned and operated winery in Victoria, has been named National Building Design of the Year at the 2016 National Building Design Awards.
Designed by MG Design & Building, the winery combines a mixture of concrete, stone, wood and glass. It also won the Best New/Alteration/Addition Design Commercial award and the Non-Residential Best Interior Design award.
Hosted by the National Association of Building Designers (NABD), the awards were held at the NABD National Conference on the Gold Coast recently. The awards were established in 2013 to promote and develop the building design industry and the work of its professionals.
Other winners include Culvert House Trentham by Maxa Design in the category of Best New Residential Design: up to $500,000 construction cost. Sunshine Villa by Chris Clout Design won in the $500,000 to $1 million construction cost category. Keane Street Residence by Gary Keen Design won in the over $1 million construction cost category, while Sorrento House 1 by Vibe Design Group received a commendation.
The best multi-residential design (up to six dwellings) went to Avon Street by Cunningham Designs. Artisan Apartments by EME Design won in the over 6 dwellings category.
The Cove by Principal Plans won best small lot design, while Dudes Ranch by BKD Designs won the best small dwelling up to 150 sqm award.
The Best New/Alteration/Addition Residential Designup to $350,000 construction cost went to Stuart Street by Janik Dalecki. The $350,000 to $800,000 construction cost award went to Agnes 4 by Dig Design while Plantation House by Chris Clout Design took out the over $800,000 construction cost category.
