McGrath Estate Agents has picked the south-east suburb of Mount Waverley to open its second Melbourne franchise, following the opening of its St Kilda office last December.
McGrath Chief Executive John McGrath said opening an office in Mount Waverley was part of a carefully considered and strategic rollout of premium franchises in Melbourne, describing Mount Waverley as one of Melbourne’s most dynamic and sought-after suburbs.
The area, which is 16 kms from the CBD, has an emerging Chinese community and has experienced strong growth. The Real Estate Institute of Victoria reported that in 2015 Mount Waverley had one of the highest median price increases of any Melbourne suburb.
"We have taken our time in selecting franchise partners who are well established in the area and share our core values for excellence and integrity," said McGrath.
McGrath Waverley will be led by Principals Con Lazogas and Hugh Trieu, long-standing local residents. The new office will focus on the key suburbs of Ashwood, Chadstone, Mount Waverley, Glen Waverley and Wheelers Hill. Lazogas and Trieu will oversee a team of eight sales agents and four property management staff, with more than 250 properties under management.
