The Biennale will see thousands of influential architects, designers, urban planners, developers and critics from over 60 countries come together in Venice.
The Australian Institute of Architects is looking for design fans who would like to volunteer at the Australian Pavilion, The Pool during the world’s most premier event for architecture, the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale.
The Biennale will see thousands of influential architects, designers, urban planners, developers and critics from over 60 countries come together in Venice to discuss the latest global architecture ideas. It takes place from May 26 to November 27, and is expected to attract over 220,000 visitors.
Australia will have a substantial presence at the 2016 Biennale with a new Australian Pavilion designed by Denton Corker Marshall. The Australian Pavillion will showcase our architecture to the international architecture and design community. Since 1988, Australia has been one of only 29 countries with a permanent national pavilion located within in the Biennale’s prestigious Giardini. Australia was the first country to redevelop, opening the current pavilion in May 2015.
Biennale volunteers will be given a unique opportunity to work with the Australian exhibition creative team and the Institute, and be a part of this important global event. Pavilion attendants will be responsible for opening and closing the pavilion; greeting and assisting visitors; and maintaining the pavilion.
