Melbourne architecture, design and property development practice Assemble has already received more than 1000 submissions commenting on their Small Footprint Living survey. The firm, which focuses on small footprint projects, is asking what people think about apartment living and will prepare a report on the survey findings that will be made publicly available. Assemble will also submit the report to the Victorian Government as part of the consultation period for its Better Apartments discussion paper and use it as a conversation-starter to engage with industry stakeholders and policymakers across the country.
"We are excited there has been renewed debate around apartment design since the release of the the Victorian Government’s ‘Better Apartments’ Discussion Paper, especially amongst industry – which is great! However, we feel it is also vital to create a voice in the conversation for the broader community," says Assemble director Giuseppe Demaio. "This is our intention with our national Small Footprint Living Survey – we are reaching out to people to tell us how they live now, and how they’d like to live in the future – and we will support the Victorian Government’s research by submitting our findings. We’ve had a fantastic response to date (more than 1000 completed submissions), but of course the more feedback we get, the more valuable the insight we can glean from it."
