The architect overseeing the design of Sydney's Barangaroo, Robert Nation, has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to architecture and environmental design as a practitioner as well for his service to higher education and professional organizations. Nation's public buildings include Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Australian Embassy in Beijing, Government Office Tower in Hong Kong, and Antarctic Division Australia headquarters in Hobart. He is a past president of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, and currently co-chairs the Institute’s International Committee.
The 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours also included architect Malcolm Phillip Levy who was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to sailing and architecture, and publisher Morry Schwartz (publisher of The Real Estate Conversation) who was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to ideas and publishing.
