REIWA is partnered with The Salvation Army in bringing attention to the plight of the homeless.
As an industry based around housing, it's fitting that the real estate community of Western Australia is partnered with The Salvation Army and encouraging people to support the Red Shield Appeal to help homeless people. For the first time, the Red Shield Appeal, which runs throughout May, will focus on homelessness, a cause REIWA and its members are passionate about and support via its philanthropic Community REInvest program.
REIWA President and Chairman of The Salvation Army WA Advisory Board, David Airey, said the homeless people in WA desperately needed the local community to get behind them. “I’m very proud to be associated with the Salvos, they help more than 100,000 West Australians every year in a variety of different ways," said Airey. “In particular they provide 300 beds every night for homeless people and their Street Outreach Team check on the well-being of those sleeping rough in our city every weekend."
