The Victorian Government Architect will influence design and innovation across the state.
The Victorian government is looking for an official architect to provide strategic advice to them on architecture and urban design, including rail and road projects and urban renewal. The position of Victorian Government Architect has been resurrected by the Andrews Labor Government after the previous Liberal government left the role vacant. In reprising the role, the Victorian government has also returned the state's architect to the Department of Premier and Cabinet to advise government-wide across projects.
The Victorian Government's Architect has contributed to Victorian projects such as AAMI Park, the Melbourne Recital Centre, and the Melbourne Convention Centre.
“Our future Victorian Government Architect will influence design and innovation across the state," said Victorian Planning Minister Richard Wynne. “This is a legacy position, independent of politics, and we are determined to attract the best talent.”
