Masterplanned community approved for area south west of Brisbane.
Development approval has just been granted for a 78 hectare site in Collingwood Park, approximately 30 kilometres from Brisbane CBD, to be transformed into a masterplanned community of 800 homes called WoodLinks Village.
The Village Building Company, a non-listed public company established in 1988, acquired the site in May last year. The company has previously completed other Queensland projects including Riverwood Estate in Murrumba Downs, The Sands at Pacific Paradise and Glenwood Estate in Kallangur, and is currently developing a 119 residential estate named Abode at Kallangur and a 77 lot project named Acacia Grove located in Beerburrum. It also has plans to develop 120 apartments at a site next to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.
Works will commence shortly on the site, and stage one will include the extensive rehabilitation of Goodna Creek and the planting of more than 25,000 trees. More than 30 per cent of the site will be set aside for parks and green spaces, together with a planned pedestrian walkway and cycle path along Goodna Creek. Village Building Company Chief Operating Officer Albert Dabas said they will also seek approval for a child care centre in the first stage of development.
Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale said the city’s population is predicted to more than double to 462,000 by 2031, and WoodLinks Village will be another important chapter in the development of Queensland’s fastest growing city.
Sales at WoodLinks Village are expected to begin mid-year.
