Harley Dale is chief economist of the Housing Institute of Australia. He has been an economist for more than 20 years, and has worked in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom. He initially specialised in East Asia, but for the last 15 years has focused primarily on Australia's residential construction sector. Harley is also a highly regarded public speaker and regular media commentator on housing-related issues. Outside work, Harley is treasurer of PIYE Incorporated, a Sydney charity that funds community projects in Kenya.
