Grant is the Chief Executive Officer of LJ Hooker. A highly experienced executive, Grant has held a number of senior leadership roles including ten years as CEO/MD for ASX-listed companies. From 2009 to 2013, Grant was CEO/MD of Salmat Ltd (ASX: SLM), successfully transforming the company to Australia' leading multi-channel communication services company. Prior to joining Salmat, Grant spent thirteen years with Corporate Express Australia Limited (now owned by Staples Inc, USA), helping establish Australia's leading business supplies distributor, where he served as CEO/MD for six and half years. Grant's previous roles at Corporate Express included General Manager of Sales & Marketing, GM Operations and GM IT Products. Grant previously worked for privately-owned IT reseller, WPA Business Products, which he went on to manage from 1992 onwards and in 1995, WPA was acquired by Corporate Express. Grant's professional career began immediately after he graduated from the University of New South Wales when he joined the IT industry as an account executive. Born in South Africa in 1962, Grant Harrod immigrated to Australia in 1978 at the age of 16. He completed his HSC at Barker College in Sydney before attending the University of New South Wales to complete a BA in Political Science. Grant has an MBA from Macquarie University's Graduate School of Management and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Away from the rigours of the corporate world he enjoys cycling and sailing.
