REISA is continuing to be inundated with calls from property managers about South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and its processes and decisions. In particular, the top issues raised with REISA are:

• The applicability and recoverability of the $69 fee
• Delays in SACAT hearings
• Payment plans
• Inconsistent decision making
• 3 Strikes and you’re out rule not being followed.

As a result REISA asked for an urgent meeting with Government to discuss these issues.

On Tuesday, REISA and representatives from the Property Management Committee met with the Commissioner for Consumer Affairs and Barbie Johns and Claire Byrt from SACAT. Discussions were constructive and CBS and SACAT agreed to look at our issues and to discusses better processes to streamline the SACAT experience.
