E-commerce tech founders bid it out for prestige hilltop winery on the Mornington Peninsula
Property interest is intensifying in the Mornington Peninsula and other regional areas with companies realising they can be managed remotely and with more flexibility.

Property interest is intensifying in the Mornington Peninsula, with real estate agents reporting a flurry of enquiry and sales in the past month.
The 176 Rogers Road, Boneo, 11.33 ha property which was home to the La Campagna restaurant and cellar door for many years created a robust bidding frenzy.
Listed for only three days this month, negotiations went into the early hours of the morning with the eventual buyer ROKT co-founder Benjamin Voltz paying just under $10 million. Voltz plans to reconfigure the peninsular winery into an opulent 5 star residence with 180 degree views over vines and Bass Strait.
Voltz knows a thing or two about e-commerce so expect to to see his wine labels kick off online in the months to come.
Rumour has it Voltz wasn't the only tech founder interested in the property with at least three other parties most with tech-links and deep pockets keen for a slice of the vines.
The purchase is another example of shifts in wealth investing in regional areas. Tech entrepreneurs like in other sectors realise companies can be managed with more flexibility in regional areas these days instead of being tied to the office day in day out.
