The auction of a newly built home in The Surrounds community at Helensvale on Sunday will serve a philanthropic purpose as part of LJ Hooker's House for Life initiative. 

LJ Hooker Pacific Pines | Helensvale has marketed a no-reserve auction for the Mater Little Miracles charity, which helps seriously-ill and premature babies at Mater Hospital’s Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU)

Villawood Properties, the developer of The Surrounds, has donated the 469 square metre site on which Plantation Homes has designed and delivered the four-bedroom home.

All bedrooms boast ensuites and five designated living spaces highlight the grand design of the Hamptons-style home.

Leading national auctioneer Damien Cooley will handle the gavel on the day.

Pascal Pierre, Principal of LJ Hooker Pacific Pines | Helensvale, said the agency was thrilled to donate its efforts to the auction.

"The House for Life initiative is another way for us to join other great companies like Plantation Homes, Villawood Properties and others in giving back to the communities that support us,” he said.

“The Mater Little Miracles is an important cause, giving invaluable support to Queensland families experiencing the most trying of times.

“The Helensvale area is popular amongst families with its schooling, extensive parkland and proximity to employment hubs. What the (Mater Little Miracles) cause sets out to achieve really resonates with us as a business and with our customers.”

The house is being marketed by selling agents Brad Clarke and Siarne Loeve.

Ms Loeve said the quality of the home had driven significant interest.

"We haven't been surprised by the interest in such a quality home in a popular area,” she said.

“There were 332 homes that changed hands over the last year - that's almost one new family moving into the suburb every day.”

A family-fun day is planned on-site at Laurel Drive on Sunday (September 8) at The Surrounds, with television personality and House for Life Ambassador Sam Squiers hosting a range of activities.

Mater Little Miracles is an initiative of the Mater Foundation.
