The Real Estate Institute of New South Wales and its Auctioneers’ Chapter Committee have done extensive work to review the Auctioneers Accreditation.
The Real Estate Institute of New South Wales says auctioneers "should be proud" of the work its Auctioneers’ Chapter Committee have undertaken to review the Auctioneers Accreditation.
Nerida Wood, REINSW’s Training Manager, said the input from the Auctioneers’ Chapter Committee was invaluable to the consultation for the new training package that was endorsed in March 2019.
“The new real estate training package is set to improve auctioneers’ knowledge and skills exponentially by including new levels of competency,” she said.
The Committee have spent time reviewing what an auctioneer does against the current NSW Fair Trading requirements for auctioneer accreditation.
Additional units have been developed in response to concerns in the real estate industry about the training an auctioneer currently receives.
Currently, there is only one unit of competency for auctioneer accreditation – CPPDSM4004A Conduct Auction, which focuses on the skill of conducting an auction.
With the new training package, there are three units of competency encompassed in a cluster called Group D – Auctioneering.
The three units are as follows.
Jesse Davidson, Chair of REINSW’s Auctioneers Chapter Committee explained that the new training package focuses on the intricacies of auction and the importance of compliance and legislation.
“If you’re looking to improve your auction understanding and hear from industry leaders, this course will not let you down,” said Davidson.
