Could this lavish apartment, titled 'The Boyd Residence' after its current developer owner, become Australia's most expensive apartment?
When developer John Boyd sold a combined five lots on Castlereagh and Pitt Streets in the heart of the Sydney CBD to Grocon, he retained the rights to the level 43 penthouse.
He now lives in the penthouse, which was completed in 2015 after four years of construction, with his wife and their young child.
The architect of the building was Richard Francis-Jones, and the dramatic interiors of the penthouse were by Blainey North. The penthouse was named the world’s finest residence at the International Design & Architecture Awards last year.
The apartment has 360 degree views over Sydney, including stunning views of the harbour.

The Boyd Residence contains more than 200 pieces of bespoke furniture, which are available for sale at an additional cost.
The agents are Ken Jacobs of Christie’s International Real Estate and Bill Malouf of LJ Hooker Double Bay.
"One of the many appealing features to a high-profile owner is that the private parking area and private elevator allows access to the penthouse in complete privacy," Jacobs told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
