The team at The Real Estate Conversation would like to wish our readers a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year.
This is the last edition of The Real Estate Conversation for 2016.
What a year it's been.
We had the extended federal election campaign that eventually resulted in a win for Malcolm Turnbull - just. Then there was the shock Brexit result, followed swiftly by the surprise election of Donald Trump. Back home, interest rates fell to historic lows, but now appear to be on the rise. The real estate market has scaled new heights in some cities, though it languishes in others.
One thing is consistent, real estate remains firmly on the nation's radar.
We look forward to continuing the real estate conversation in 2017.
A big thank you to our regular readers and contributors, and we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year.
We will resume publishing on Monday 9 January.
