REIWA hosted more than 900 members and guests at the reiwa.com Awards Ball on Saturday night to celebrate the industry’s best performers at a Carnival themed event held at Crown Perth.

REIWA CEO Neville Pozzi said the Awards provided an opportunity to celebrate Western Australia’s leading real estate sales professionals.

“The reiwa.com Awards Ball is an annual event which recognises the best of the best in WA real estate in regards to sales achievements,” Mr Pozzi said.

“On behalf of everyone at REIWA, congratulations to the winners and finalists of the 2016 reiwa.com Awards.”

Sean Hughes, managing director of Realmark Coastal was thrilled to win Top Salesperson by Auction Listings Sold, especially considering the tough conditions in the Perth property market. "Obviously winning anything is always a good feeling," he said, "but I think winning something when it's tough or when the odds are stacked against you is more rewarding . Perth has been a challenging market last year and so to win this award at this time is particularly satisfying."

Hughes said Western Australian agents should be benchmarking themselves against agents in the eastern states. "If we want to continue to grow we need to continue to bench ourselves in Perth against eastern states agents and agencies. We aren't here to take part... We are here to take over!" he said.

Guests at the Ball were entertained by singer-songwriter Anthony Callea, with Tim Campbell as MC.
