Proceeds from the sale of the US$39 million estate will go to a local animal charity.
Founder of PeopleSoft and Workday, and avid animal lover, David Duffield, is asking US$39 million ($54 million) for his 21.5-acre estate in Alamo, California.
The asking price, if achieved, will be a record for the suburb, and is even more remarkable in that the proceeds will go to a local animal charity. Maddie's Fund is a not-for-profit animal welfare group started by Duffield and his wife in memory of their miniature schnauzer.
The property comes with a soundproof aviary, dog park, and two paw-washing stations. As well as owning four dogs and four parrots, the Duffields have 10 children. Accordingly, the gated property has a swimming pool, plunge pool with water slide, home cinema, and 23-metre suspension bridge leading to a tree house.
Local media company, Goldeneye Media, is producing a short film to showcase the property to a global audience.
Tracey Atkins, managing director of Goldeneye, said, "We are privileged to be making the campaign film for this incredible Californian estate. It is such a beautiful place - in so many ways."
