The end of daylight savings marks the approach of winter. A new development with 100% north-facing apartments is designed to help occupants stay positive.
A new development at Sydney Olympic Park is designed so that each apartment has north east orientation, ensuring each receives sunshine throughout the year and in particular during the winter solstice - the shortest day of the year.
Modelling by architects Bates Smart shows that each of the 229 apartments in the spectacular 'Boomerang' tower will achieve a minimum of three hours of natural light a day.
The 32-level residential tower will sit above a Six Green Star commercial office block.
Boomerang is the first apartment building on Olympic Boulevard, the most iconic street in Sydney Olympic Park. The apartments will be launched in May. Olympic Park now has a population of around 2,000 residents, but that is expected to swell to 14,000 by 2030.
"Rather than the post-Olympics hangover some doomsayers predicted, Sydney Olympic Park now has a residential 'heart' with a strong communal spirit," said Sue Ballesty, market manager of the developer, Ecove.
