Regional building approvals the "lowest on record"
Master Builders have forecast a "grim" year ahead for regional Queensland after the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics reveal building approvals have dropped again.
Building approvals have surged across Queensland, with the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showing house approvals up 27 per cent and units up 60 per cent for the month of June.
Master Builders Deputy CEO, Paul Bidwell, says the latest ABS data shows approvals for detached dwellings were up a staggering 52.3% in Mackay and the Whitsundays for the year.
