The search for a warehouse conversion ended when Brett Greensill of McGrath introduced this dream home.

A couple downsizing from their large home in Brisbane’s suburbs was won over by a striking Darren James Interiors renovation of a three-storey warehouse conversion in the Winchcombe Carson Wool Stores.

They had spent a year searching for the right warehouse conversion before inspecting Apartment 93, one of the largest in the Wool Stores at 269 square metres (Approx.). They worked with McGrath New Farm’s Brett Greensill to secure their new home paying $1.85 million.

The sellers, a professional couple who had owned the apartment since 2006 had engaged Darren James Interiors to completely renovate their four-bedroom home.

Brett Greensill conducted a high-profile campaign that attracted about 200 enquiries. He commented, “Everyone who saw it said, ‘Wow, but in the end, it could only have one buyer.”

The renovation brief was to provide a tranquil Singaporean-style sanctuary from the dynamic Teneriffe lifestyle outside. The centrepiece of the design is a soaring 12-metre central atrium; it features a five-metre no-maintenance imitation tree.

Unique features include a spectacular ensuite and dressing room with a deep, circular tub and back-lit shelving to display the previous owner’s sneaker collection. There’s also a charcoal grey media room perfect as a home cinema but previously used to record electronic music. The guest suite has its own entry.

The new owners were drawn to Teneriffe’s riverside location and its vibrant community. Residents of the Carson Winchcombe Wool Stores apartments share a large outdoor pool and communal garden.

Brett Greensill said the new owners are thrilled. “They’re a very lucky family!”
