An eco-friendly home on the Tweed Coast of NSW.
This Pacific Island-style home complete with cathedral ceilings and a loft has been named the Tweed Coast's most sustainable new abode after achieving an 8 star rating and HIA GreenSmart accreditation. Located just a short walk from the beach at Seaside City at Kingscliff, which is located on the Tweed Coast just 15 minutes south of Coolangatta Airport and 90 minutes south of Brisbane. The four bedroom property was created by new national 'green' design consultancy Eco Sustainable House who teamed up with local builder Eco-Essence Homes. Features include an internal staircase leading to a loft which has been fashioned from recycled timber from the Palm Beach Squash Courts, with all the court markings still visible. A Queen size bed has been built into the floor of the loft giving the whole space a cosy look and feel. Solar hot water and some of the most efficient tap ware on the market have been selected along with LED Lamps to reduce energy use. Overall it's estimated that an 8 star home like this reduces energy and water consumption by about 60 per cent. The home has been released to the market this week under an expressions of interest campaign. The contact agent is Bruce Williams from Ray Realty on (02) 6674 3444 or visit ecoessencehomes.com.au
