"It was an enormous privilege and challenge to have the opportunity to design this group of new townhouses and the corner gallery & cafe in the West Woollahra Conservation area," John Grove told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
"Being on the junction of Holdsworth Street and Jersey Road was like having a foot in each of two entirely different streetscapes. The design concept was politically controversial at the time and polarised the Council assessment committees, and was ultimately approved in the Land & Environment Court. Ironically, it was only a few years later that the whole project was awarded a Woollahra Conservation Award."
