Guntawang’s grand colonial homestead was designed by renowned colonial architect John Frederick Hilly and built in the late 1860s to early 1870s.

“Guntawang is one of Central Tablelands most iconic rural properties and has a long association with the horse racing industry in Australia. The beautiful colonial homestead and stables are highly regarded for their architecture and Guntawang was the birth home of the mother of one of Australia’s most noted poets, Henry Lawson,” Richard told LUXURY LIST WEEKEND.

Guntawang is also a thoroughbred stud and attracted buyers in the equine industry. Guntawang’s colonial buildings and rich history makes for a tremendous tourism destination or grand private estate.”
Source: Cullen RoyleGuntawang was once a self-contained community with its own school, post office, church and inn which serviced workers and miners of the surrounding gold fields. A lot of the original buildings remain today and would make an outstanding tourism destination or remain a private estate as it is today.
The buyers are a Sydney based family who are looking forward to being the next custodians of such an iconic and productive property.
Source: Cullen RoyleWhile the amount of enquiry for the Mudgee property was strong, Richard told LUXURY LIST WEEKEND he had noticed a slump in inspections.
“We have noticed a lot of our buyers are currently travelling internationally and inspections have dropped off accordingly. The current wave of positive COVID cases and flu in Australia is also attributing to the lower number of inspections. However, the enquiry remains strong with buyers reluctant to travel, if they can avoid it right now.”
