This beautifully maintained, elegant 1920s Queenslander in Norman Park has been by Shane Hicks of Place Bulimba for $1,610,000.

“We launched the property on Thursday night and the enquiries started flooding in straight away. We had 15 groups through the first (and only) open home. All of these were families so at any one time we had 30 people in the home with the rest walking around the yard waiting to get in. We had a mixture of locals, returned expats, and interstate buyers who had just come out of quarantine.”
“After the first open we had three very interested parties and two second inspections booked for the Monday morning. The buyer had missed out on several other homes so made a strong cash, unconditional offer to take it off the market that night.”

“She was away on a girls’ weekend but took some time out to DocuSign the contract on her phone,” Shane explained to WILLIAMS MEDIA. “Thankfully when his wife and two boys did see the property on the Thursday, they absolutely loved it, much to everyone’s relief!”

“There is a lot of interest in larger blocks at the moment. Anything larger than 600sqm is attracting a lot of attention and selling quickly,” Shane told WILLIAMS MEDIA. “This one was a traditional 809sqm block in a prestigious Norman Park Street, with a very nicely renovated Queenslander with the added bonus of city views.”

“There are a lot of reasons for people to move at the moment. Some people are upsizing as they are now working from home and need more space, some are downsizing as they would like to reduce their mortgage, some are doing sea/tree changes as they have realised they can work from home and of course interstate buyers are very active in the market. Over the last few weeks we have had both returning expats and buyers from Sydney and Melbourne (post quarantine) at our open homes. It’s definitely a good time to be selling!”
