Inspired by the design of Louis Kahn's 1972 Kimbell Art Museum in Texas, 'Northbridge House' is centred on a Japanese-style courtyard and built around solid concrete pylons and a series of vaults. An 18-metre cantilevered lap-pool extends from the courtyard out towards the harbour.

The master suite overlooks the pool and features a skylit ensuite and walk-in robe, while the other four bedrooms all have built-ins and views of the beautiful surrounding environment.
A private inclinator provides direct access to a private jetty and the harbour.
The home includes a sleek kitchen with a large cantilevered concrete benchtop, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, a rumpus room with its own kitchenette, two studies, a spa, and a tennis court.
Other design features of this home are limestone flooring, underfloor heating, and concrete pillars enhanced by teak wood and glass.
Alex Popov of PopovBass told WILLIAMS MEDIA, "The strength of this house lies in the simplicity of the idea - four columns and a vaulted roof then set in parallel. This additive principle allows for the scale required and relies on the perfection of the detailing to raise it above the mundane."
In Anna Johnson's book, 'Alex Popov: Selected Works (2008)', she writes of Northbridge House, "Taking cues from the massive sandstone formations that personify the Sydney landscape, this house provides a solid platform from which to experience the climate while protecting the inhabitants from the urban environment."
