A picturesque Gladesville home designed around a native, rainforest garden is for sale.
The owners of this Gladesville home, Vic and Clare Cherikoff, are Australia's leading experts on native food plants. Their garden has the feel of a rainforest, and includes many native edible plants.
"The rainforest out the back is like a botanic garden," said Vic.
The couple built a freshwater billabong-style pool, and used the pinkish shale excavated from the site to make mud bricks used in an extension to the home.
Clare said, "We love the natural feel and look of the bricks. I also used concepts from the book 'The Pattern Language' so you can glimpse the garden from every room, even from the shower."
Vic and Clare are selling the 888sqm property to move to France.
The three-bedroom home is open to offers of more than $2 million.
