Place Estate Agents is expecting strong demand for a pair of properties build to house all members of the family.
This year has been one of change for Australian families, with plans altered according to restrictions and setting.
Brisbane-based Place Estate Agents is marketing two properties that reflect what they believe is a shift in demand towards multi-generational properties that has begun to emerge in 2020.
The homes at 26 Wright Street, Balmoral, and 21 Weal Avenue, Tarragindi feature multiple living zones suited to a range of uses.
The latter has the potential for a teenager's wing or guest retreat on its ground floor, while also offering a private master bedroom and two further bedrooms upstairs, complete with built-in robes and steps from a main bathroom.
Selling agent Cathy Richards of Place Estate told WILLIAMS MEDIA the resort-style home was "perfect" for accommodating family members of all ages, which was becoming increasingly prevalent among households.
"I think one of the byproducts of COVID is that children are staying at home rather than moving on to what their next step is," she said.
"I've also seen situations where the grandparents are living with the family as well, meaning there are three generations under the one roof.
"The property at 26 Wright Street offers the buyer the chance to Airbnb one of the living zones and separate that from the home at the rear, which I think is appealing for both younger families and empty nesters."
The home at 21 Weal Avenue, Tarragindi, is similarly spacious, incorporating six separate living zones, six bedrooms with ensuites and a resort-inspired alfresco entertaining space.
Selling agent James Curtain said with 750 square metres of space under one roof, the property offered room for families to spread that was seldom seen in the area, adding he expected demand for these type of homes to continue "for a long time to come".
"Families are really utilising these spaces for their own needs," he said.
"With people working and studying from home, we are seeing a higher need for breakaway space than ever before.
"People are still cautious about COVID and there is an understanding this could go on for a fair amount of time."
Place Estate Agents recently oversaw the sale of family home 1 Thompson Street, Bulimba for an undisclosed amount, which was marketed through Sarah Hackett.
