‘Lisieux’, an iconic Art Deco residence with panoramic views over Port Phillip Bay, has been sold by Eleisha Doherty of Kay & Burton for an undisclosed amount.

Eleisha told WILLIAMS MEDIA there was a high level of interest in the multi-generational home as soon as it went on the market.

“Offered for the first time in 40 years, it was a big decision for the family to move on to their next chapter, so they wanted the right buyer who was going to keep the façade and respect the history and the heritage, rather than knock it down,” Eleisha explained to WILLIAMS MEDIA. 

“As it is one of the most iconic and endearing façades along the waterfront strip, many people wanted to have a ‘sticky beak’, however the campaign was run in a very discreet manner at the request of our clients.” 

As a result, the home was not advertised as open for inspection. Rather, 27 pre-qualified parties were shown the home privately, during the course of the campaign, and 6 virtual inspections were held with overseas and interstate buyers through buyers agents. The quoted price range was $7,950,000 - $8,600,000.

'Lisieux' was sold to a family who live on the waterfront in Sydney's North Shore and found the uninterrupted water views in Middle Park very attractive. They were looking for a Melbourne base as their daughter is moving south for university. 

“The property itself is a really beautiful piece of real estate and has so much scope to further enhance in future and we know our new owners will have many years of enjoyment here, just like the current owners have had for the past 40 years,” Eleisha told WILLIAMS MEDIA.

The Port Phillip market is tracking extremely well at present.

“The locals love it and don't want to move anywhere else and expats gravitate for the lifestyle that is on offer. There is hardly any turnover for family homes in Middle Park which means low stock volumes and few opportunities to buy into the area. The beach, cafe culture, schools and transport really do make it an enviable place to call home.”

Eleisha told WILLIAMS MEDIA it was a privilege and pleasure to sell ‘Lisieux’ for this family. “I have known them for a long time and have sold for them previously. Countless agents tried to secure this listing over the 40 years they enjoyed this home as a family, so I would like to acknowledge and thank them for trusting me to get them an outcome they are happy with.”
