Sold by Sam Rigopoulos and Paula Beavis of Jellis Craig, who told WILLIAMS MEDIA, “The luxury market in our area is in good form despite the pandemic.”
This spectacular landmark c.1912 home with stellar Melbourne and mountain views on Ruckers Hill has been sold by Sam Rigopoulos and Paula Beavis of Jellis Craig for $3,600,000.
Exquisitely presented, ‘Lugano’ boasts a Federation Queen Anne style and opulent period details such as grand rooms, leadlight bay windows, and high pressed metal ceilings, and widow's walk.
Sam Rigopoulos told WILLIAMS MEDIA the 7-week campaign began with a 4-week auction process, followed by 3-week private sale campaign.
There were 5 virtual inspections and 30 in person one-on-one inspections were held prior to the sale, with a demographic made up largely of growing families on their second or third home.
“Many of our buyers are medical/healthcare professionals or in banking, and are seeking the convenience of a luxury home with easy access to transport links in a suburb that most would say has a very grounded feeling,” Sam told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
Four groups showed interest at various stages of the campaign.
“At auction an expat returning home from the London banking scene was the most interested party, he participated at auction but we couldn’t meet at an agreeable figure to the vendor,” Sam told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
“2 weeks later we met a couple originally from New York now based in St Kilda who fell in love with the period appeal, the Melbourne skyline views and the location. it was a swift negotiation and all parties are thrilled!”
The five bedroom home includes multiple living areas, including a vast living room which was originally the ballroom, gourmet kitchen/dining/family hub and an entertainer's deck with outdoor kitchen and studio. Modern luxuries include a heated swim spa, sauna, plus a cellar and 6 car garage. A second street frontage offers further allure, while High Street, Westgarth, transport and schools are nearby.
“Mid last year the suburb record was set at approx. $4.5m with our sale of 18 Henry Street Northcote, so the luxury market in our area is in good form and despite recent pandemic we have had a string of premium home sales that have surprised us all. In a market still very much at the infancy stages of developing luxury homes it is very encouraging to see premium offerings consistently absorbed by the market,” Sam told WILLIAMS MEDIA.
