Although a public auction, selling agents Lee Dowdall and Stephanie O’Sullivan were unable to disclose the ultimate price but could confirm the price exceeded all expectations and set a new suburb record for the tightly held Huntleys Point peninsula.

This was the second record sale by The Agency Hunters Hill who previously set the Huntleys Point suburb record when they sold a home at the end of the street last year for $9.8m.

Speaking to LUXURY LIST WEEKEND, Lee Dowdall said there had been 72 inspections of the home during the 6-week auction campaign, including 2 virtual inspections.

There were 5 registered bidders on Auction Day, with 3 of the registered parties bidding competitively. A total of 53 bids being placed before the hammer came down.

“The sale shows the continued strength and demand for quality waterfront homes in the local area and with Huntleys Point being notoriously tightly held it was clear to see by the level of interest that buyers appreciate this convenient location and the lifestyle on the water it offers,” Lee told LUXURY LIST WEEKEND.

A cross section of buyers looked at the property, including upsizers, downsizers, and family buyers, as well as national interest mainly from those wanting to move on to the waterfront.

“All of the registered parties, including the new owners were families who saw 15 Huntleys Point Road as their forever family home, just like the current owners who have lived there for close to 40 years,” Lee said.
