The first floor was also replanned to have generous bedrooms and a steel windows-enclosed verandah at the front to be able to choose to shut out or breathe in the cool and fragrant Centennial Park microclimate."

Designer Alexandra Kidd told LUXURY LIST the home's scale was a key consideration in the design.

"Our clients were dreaming of a striking family home that sang of rich colour and luxurious layers. Our design approach needed to consider the impressive scale of the home as demure furnishings would have been lost in such a space.

We allowed each room to tell its own story, all the while looking to the original architecture to provide the unifying thread connecting the distinct spaces. Each room speaks its own language and emotes its own sense of place. As you journey through the finished home, no two rooms compete with each other; but rather the originality of each complements the unique experience on offer. Some rooms reflect a more traditional luxury; others are bold and whimsical."
