Amid a shortfall in available homes for sale, Sarah Hackett of Place New Farm says buyers are acting quickly to avoid missing opportunities.
The high end Brisbane property market remains strong, with five luxury properties sold by Place’s Sarah Hackett last week.
One of these properties, a penthouse in the tightly held Freshwater complex in New Farm was sold off market for an undisclosed amount that set a new record for the building.

The 4-bedroom residence benefits from resort-style facilities, proximity to the CBD, and views over Brisbane River, Botanic Gardens, and city.

On the day there were 6 active bidders, with 14 bids made before the home sold to an empty-nester couple who had been looking at the building for 10 years.
“There was a lot of interest in the building from a local and interstate audience. It’s a tightly held complex with incredible views of the city and parklands down the river, so interest in securing this property was great.”

Inspired by American coastal design, 102 Buena Vista Avenue Coorparoo delivers heritage-style elegance with modern functionality in one of Brisbane’s best streets.
The five-bedroom residence is positioned only eight kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD and minutes from local conveniences.
There were 46 inspections of 102 Buena Vista Avenue during the 3-week campaign, Sarah told LUXURY LIST WEEKEND.

The home was sold for an undisclosed price to a young family with small children who fell in love with the yard and pool. “The layout was perfect for their family,” Sarah explained.

Sarah's other sales of the week were of neighbouring Bulimba riverfront properties on behalf of Courtney Talbot, daughter of the late mining magnate Ken Talbot. Combined, 35 and 39 McConnell Street Bulimba encompass approximately 2,123sqm with a 40m water frontage.

Buyers are moving quickly to secure their new homes, Sarah explained.
“On reflection all of these sales were sold to buyers that we’ve been working with for over 12 months. The buyers have seen plenty of prestige properties sell in that 12 months, have a clear view of the properties’ value so acted quickly to avoid missing the opportunity with each. We are down 40% in stock of available homes for sale compared to last year so there are certainly more buyers than properties for sale.”
