Place Estate Agent’s “The Day” auction event has wrapped up with an above market average clearance rate.
The event highlighted the resilience of Brisbane’s real estate market, where eager buyers were vying for their dream homes just in time for the festive season.
Among the standout properties were 12 General Street, Hendra, which sold for an impressive $4.05 million, and the iconic Round House in Indooroopilly, captivating both local and international attention.
Peter Burgin, Place’s Chief Auctioneer, highlighted the active participation of buyers, with an average of 2.3 active bidders per property.
“Despite an increase in listings, the demand from buyers is robust. This event has provided a fantastic opportunity for sellers to connect with enthusiastic buyers looking to make a purchase before Christmas,” said Peter.
Place’s Managing Director and Auctioneer, Paul Curtain, expressed his optimism regarding the auction results.
“While 65% of properties sold, the ones that didn’t will likely find buyers soon, given the ongoing interest. It’s a positive sign for both sellers and buyers as we head into the holiday season.”
A highlight of the day was the auction of 12 General Street, Hendra, which was sold under the hammer by Place Ascot's Patrick McKinnon to a local family for an impressive $4.05 million. This sale exemplifies the ongoing demand for quality properties in desirable locations.
Another notable auction was “The Round House” at 31 Marston Ave, Indooroopilly. This architect-designed home drew significant interest, with a crowd of over 50 people attending the auction.
Although the property was initially passed in at a vendor bid of $3.5 million, it quickly went under contract within an hour to a local family.
“This is what we love about auctions – you just never know. The Round House attracted attention from across Australia and even internationally, yet it was a local buyer who ultimately secured it,” Peter said.
Average attendance per property was around 35 people, which shows a high level of interest from the community in the Brisbane property market.
