BresicWhitney partnered with award-winning design practice Those Architects Co-Founder and Director Ben Mitchell to bring the project to life continuing BresicWhitney's legacy of providing environments that inspire high-performance and collaboration.
The space is located at Level 1, 742 Military Road Mosman, inside the former ANZAC Memorial Hall, that once served as a place of connection for returned servicemen. The building has retained its local significance and charm for over 100 years.
BresicWhitney partnered with award-winning design practice Those Architects to bring the project to life. Those’s Co-Founder and Director Ben Mitchell is also a Mosman resident. Notable commercial projects of Those Architects include the headquarters of fashion brand Aje, the retro-inspired Isla Motel in Batemans Bay, and the Paddington office of See-Saw films.
BresicWhitney CEO Thomas McGlynn said, “We have a 20-year history of investing in environments for our people that nurture high-performance, collaboration and creativity. This space delivers that for our growing Lower North Shore team, reflecting not only our absolute commitment to our culture, but our long-term intentions in the area.
“We also put a great deal of care and thought into creating a space that would respect the building’s history and share the values of the local community. It’s a privilege to have been part of the team who created what is a very special space, and one that furthers our ambition of becoming Sydney’s leading property group,” Mr. McGlynn concluded.
The entry is marked by natural stone at the main reception desk, situated at the top of a restored wooden entry stair. Sophisticated materiality continues through the use of stainless steel, with an intricate ribbon that acts as the primary device for organising the office space. Desks are crafted from steel, with single sculptural pieces creating a non-hierarchical environment.
One of the most striking features is the French Blue mesh ceiling, glimpses of which are visible from the street during both daytime and night-time – an intentional consideration by BresicWhitney and Those, in igniting curiosity into the space from the group’s employees, and the community.
Ben Mitchell said, “We have enjoyed working collaboratively with the BresicWhitney team to create a space that is welcoming for their people and customers, who have a high appreciation of design, while also ensuring that it meets all the functional requirements of running a busy office.”
BresicWhitney continues to affirm its presence across the key lifestyle markets of Sydney and those that hug the harbour. BresicWhitney’s five offices are now located across the Inner East, Inner West, Balmain, Hunters Hill, and the Lower North Shore.
