Property developers are increasingly marketing their apartment developments in artistic ways.
In Brisbane, one developer is hoping to attract buyers to their apartment project by showing prospective tenants what the lobby art will look like. Brookfield Residential Properties has commissioned Australian artist Sam Chirnside to create works for its Gallery House development in Hamilton, positioning the building as desirable to aesthetes.
Gallery House is a 20-level luxury apartment project featuring one, two and three bedroom apartments, along with a collection of penthouses and sub-penthouses. The Cottee Parker-designed apartments will average over 110sqm and feature generous sized balconies and full height windows. Many also feature two car spaces. The building will also have a rooftop sanctuary for residents with an infinity pool, outdoor lounge and barbeque area.
Buyers can choose from three collections offer varying levels of luxury, the Sky Collection, the River Collection or the City Collection. One bedroom apartments are priced from $419,000, two bedroom apartments from $847,500 and three bedroom apartments from $1.28 million.
Chirnside has created three works to represent the three different types of apartment on offer. The works are currently on display in the new sales suite at Portside Wharf and will eventually be incorporated into the lobby of building.
"Gallery House is quite different from the fields I usually work in and I've always liked to push my art in new directions and present myself in new ways, whether that is through a new medium or a different field," said Chirnside, who has recently created artwork for the Nike Women Victory Tour, skateboard prints for Los Angeles label Sovrn and record covers for the likes of Sony artist Young Empires.
