A homestead linked to one of Australia's great explorers is for sale.
'Little Kickerbell' is a 13-hectare property situated 30 kilometres west of Quirindi in north-west New South Wales.
The original 'Kickerbell' station was established in 1835 by John Blaxland, the older brother of Gregory Blaxland, co-leader of the famous expedition that crossed the Blue Mountains in 1813.
'Little Kickerbell' features a six-bedroom, weatherboard and stone homestead, with wraparound verandahs, sweeping green lawns, and established trees.
The property has been beautifully renovated by its current owners, and was used as a highly successful guest house and restaurant. Only four hours from Sydney, the land is productive, well watered, and includes Jackaroo quarters.
The property is being marketed by Luke Scanlon of Ray White Quirindi. It will be auctioned on 5 December, and has a price guide of more than $800,000.
