Ex-MP and footballer is new Deputy Chief Commissioner with the VBA.
Former Victorian MP and AFL footballer Justin Madden has been appointed to the Victorian Building Authority as Deputy Chief Commissioner. Madden, who is also an architect, will be on the board for three years. The Victorian Building Authority is the state administrator for the building and plumbing systems, overseeing building permits and building surveyors, registration and licensing of plumbers, and supporting the Building Practitioner Board. Madden's time in Victorian Parliament was served in both the upper and lower houses from 1999 until 2014, and he served as Minister across portfolios including Planning, Sport and Recreation, Youth Affairs and was the Minister for the Commonwealth Games under the Bracks and Brumby governments. "Justin Madden’s career-defining strengths as a team player compliment his experience in government and as an architect. He is a great fit for Deputy Chief Commissioner with the VBA," said Planning Minister Richard Wynne.
