Dysart House was built in 1841, and features an imposing facade with Doric columns, a Greek portico, quoin work around corners, and a grand entrance hall. The home was formerly a hotel and later a private girls' school. Dysart House is built in the Old Colonial Grecian Regency style.

The two-storey residence has multiple living spaces, a cellar, seven bedrooms, and six bathrooms. The kitchen features marble benchtops, and is large enough to operate on a commercial scale. The interiors retain fine period details, with Cedar timber joinery and double-hung sash windows.

Set on 6 hectares of pasture, the grounds include a wonderful flagstone courtyard, quadrangle surrounding the main house, north and south wings, and a self-contained brick cottage.
