REINSW have had a great response from their members who are in support of the campaign to have a dedicated Property Services Commissioner instead of NSW Fair Trading.

With more than 50,000 real estate professionals and agency services staff across NSW, the Industry serves the interests of more than 2 million people with their property transactions annually. NSW Real Estate is a $140 billion industry annually* based on the value of residential property sales each year. 

No other Industry can match the social and economic importance of the property industry.

REINSW believe change is long overdue and have been relentlessly lobbying the Government over the past 10 years to remove the property Industry from under NSW Fair Trading and establish a dedicated Property Services Commissioner.

REINSW believes that the NSW Fair Trading’s lack of industry knowledge adds to the cost of property transactions and fails to protect consumers and support Industry. A Property Services Commissioner, with industry knowledge and experience, who will work cooperatively and constructively with Industry, and will help all of us, most importantly, the Consumer.
