Realmark Coastal director Sean Hughes told WILLIAMS MEDIA “enquiries for the agency’s property listings had gone through the roof on the back of last Sunday’s announcement.”
“Following the news that Perth would again be plunged into lockdown, buyers were out in droves making offers on homes we have listed,” said Mr Hughes.
“Our office wrote 37 offers on Monday this week alone, straight after the Premier’s announcement, and some of these were made sight unseen or subject to viewing when the restrictions allow.
“The strong demand is being driven by upsizers looking to get into the market before prices skyrocket and growing numbers of international and interstate buyers, and stock levels continue to be tight amidst the uncertainty of the pandemic.”
Mr Hughes said his group, the city’s largest Realmark agency and which was recently named WA’s number one sales office by Real Estate Business for a second consecutive year, was in a strong position to help sellers following last year’s COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions.
“We have been here before so we were all systems go to roll out the successful processes we introduced last year such as Zoom property viewings, virtual meetings, and online document signing software,” he explained.
“Quality Perth properties are still in high demand and people are increasingly comfortable with buying homes they’ve only inspected online and we’re still seeing offers above market price and fielding multiple offers on residences.
“WA homeowners can be assured that there are real estate professionals in Perth like ours that can help them sell even in lockdown mode and work remotely even when our offices have to close.”
As outlined in its 2021 outlook, the Real Estate Institute of WA expects prices will increase between 6 – 10% over the next 12 months.
Realmark Coastal, traditionally known for its focus on the oceanside suburbs along the coast from City Beach to Hillarys, have expanded their footprint both inland to Floreat, Wembley, North Perth and Leederville, and north to Beldon, Ocean Reef, Iluka and Burns Beach.
