Historic Brisbane home Cintra House in Bowen Hills has recently sold for more than $7million, advises Josh Brown and Matt Lancashire of Ray White New Farm.
With six bedrooms on a 3,050 square metre block, and one of Brisbane's oldest residential homes, Cintra House has seen many changes.
Built in 1863 and extended over the following years, Cintra House has been home to many distinguished members of Brisbane society, including Boyd Dunlop Morehead and his family.
Mr Dunlop was premier of Queensland from 1888-1890 and was also the uncle of P.L. Travers best known as the author of the Mary Poppins series of children's books.
It has also been a nursing home, a gallery and even a convent.
It has since been returned to its original use as a family home.
The building is of elegant sandstone and only 2.5 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD.

"The sale happened over Christmas and was not actively being marketed, in fact we had taken it off the market at the time," said Mr Brown.
"When it was on the market we had plenty of interest from international buyers and buyers down south, but it eventually sold to a local."
The final sale price and name of the owner is not for publication.
