Inglis Bloodstocks consultant Bryce Bevan has won the 2019 REINSW Novice Auctioneers Title after triumphing in Thursday night's state final.
If at first you don’t succeed, then try, try again.
That has been the journey of Inglis Bloodstocks consultant Bryce Bevan, who was crowned 2019 REINSW Novice Auctioneer Champion in Sydney on Thursday night.
The title did not come easy for Mr Bevan who was runner up in two heats before eventually triumphing in Wollongong on May 16 to progress to the state final.
He said his early performances played a pivotal role in his eventual win.
“Not winning those early heats gave me a better opportunity to practice because I was able to get some feedback of (chief judge) Clarence White,” he said.
“I could go away and actually work on different parts of my performance, as opposed to winning my first heat and just working on my own ahead of the state final.
“Each time, I was able to take on the advice, which paid dividends.”

Mr White told Williams Media said Mr Bevan’s progression was a highlight of the competition.
“The big step he took from where his call was at when he won the Wollongong heat to how it was in the final really impressed me,” he said.
“I take my hat off to him because he has worked so hard and wanted it really badly.
“That’s what the competition is all about. “
As part of his winner’s prize, Mr Bevan will recieve $1000 prize money, two tickets to the REINSW Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner, and the opportunity to conduct the WIRE charity auction.
He said the prospect of having his name on the trophy was his main motivator in entering the competition.
“A lot of previous winners such as Damien Cooley have gone on to bigger and better things,” he said.
“If you win, you are definitely in esteemed company moving forward.”
The funds raised at this year’s NAC – which exceed $8000 – will support Domestic Violence NSW.
