Di Jones has opened an office in Bowral, tapping into the trend of Sydneysiders from the Eastern Suburbs migrating south for affordability and space.
Di Jones Real Estate made its name in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, and has seen first hand the migration of residents to the Southern Highlands for the allure of affordability and lifestyle. The trend has been so marked, Di Jones has opened a full-service agency in Bowral, in the heart of the Southern Highlands.
The region is also popular for weekenders, being only a two-hour drive from Sydney.
Di Jones Real Estate CEO, Rob Ward, said Bowral, Mittagong, Moss Vale, and the surrounding villages, are seeing huge interest from the Sydney market.
“Record house prices across Sydney are seeing people looking for affordable options," he said.
"The Southern Highlands not only represents great value, it’s a lifestyle destination where families can enjoy an abundance of space,” said Ward.
Entry-level properties in the Southern Highlands start at $350,000 and go up to around $1 million, said Ward.
The Southern Highlands prestige market also offers grand estates that are relatively affordabile.
Ward said the area now has the NBN, which opens up all sorts of possibilities for residents. “With the NBN now available in the Southern Highlands many run their own business from home or are negotiating flexible working arrangements with their Sydney employers," he said.
Di Jones has had a presence in the Southern Highlands since September 2015, but on Saturday 18 February opened a full-service office in Bowral.
“We officially opened the Di Jones Bowral office to an enthusiastic crowd on Saturday and will continue to leverage our company-owned network and database," said Ward.
The median house price in Bowral was $840,000 at the end of 2016, up 16.7 per cent from the $720,000 recorded at the end of 2015, according to Domain.
