Always read the fine print before signing.
Reading contracts can be tedious, but a recent incident is a reminder to read the fine print.
When blogger GloriousGherkins received his lease in Word format, he realised he could edit the text.
He decided to add his own clause: "BIRTHDAY CAKE - Lessor shall provide birthday cake for Lessee(s) on the weekend closest to their birthdays, which are June 7th and February 17th."
"Vanilla cake is not acceptable," he added.
Glorious Gherkin said he will hold the owner to the deal. "He signed it after I made the change, and I'm going to hold him to it," he wrote.
